Working principle

The working principle of LPG gas vortex flowmeter is based on the Kamen vortex theory. When a fluid (e.g. LPG) flows through the vortex generator inside the flowmeter, vortices are generated alternately on both sides of the vortex generator, and these vortices are called Kamen vortices. The separation frequency of the vortices is directly proportional to the flow rate of the fluid, and by measuring this frequency, the flow rate of the fluid can be calculated. Specifically, when the fluid passes through the flowmeter, the vortex columns formed on both sides of the vortex generator will form a vortex street downstream, and the frequency of the vortex street is detected by the piezoelectric sensor, which is then operated and processed by the flow totalizer to ultimately obtain the flow rate value of the fluid.

Installation Requirements: LPG gas vortex flowmeter has higher requirements for straight pipe section, usually need to ensure the length of straight pipe section of 40D before and 20D after to meet the measurement requirements. 2. Temperature Limits: LPG gas vortex flowmeter has limited high temperature resistance and cannot measure fluid media with temperature ≥300℃. Therefore, you need to pay attention to the temperature range when measuring high-temperature liquefied petroleum gas.
3. Pipe diameter restrictions: Vortex flowmeter is not suitable for pipe diameter greater than DN300mm, because then the flow coefficient is smaller, may affect the measurement accuracy.
